Diamante Lavendar, Author, Artist, Songwriter
Award-Winning Author and Artist
I am an award-winning author of three published books in the genres of inspirational fiction, poetry, and non-fiction. I am also an award-winning artist. I dabble in writing music as well. I write to inspire my readers to find hope, healing and new possibilities in life.
My writing and art are explorations of the human soul, a traversing of situations that life throws at us. I have always been intrigued by the ability to overcome and move on to bigger and better things. My writing and art stem from my own experiences and those of others close to me. If I can help others heal, as I have, then I feel my work as an author and artist will have been well spent. I truly believe that everyone should try to leave a positive mark on the world, to make it a better place for all. Writing, art, and music are the ways that I am attempting to leave my mark - one story or piece of art at a time.
The most important thing the author wants readers to gain from her books:
I want my readers to know that they're not alone in hardship. I want them to realize that life is a process of decisions and that we all can strive together to make this world a better place. It is so important to cooperate and move through life with an attitude of gratitude rather than having an attitude of competition.
We all are born with unique talents and abilities that are meant to contribute to the value of society. It is my wish to inspire my readers to find their talents and to go forth in the world using those talents to make the world a better place for everyone.
Why the author is an authority on the subject of her books:
I write about my own life. All of my books center on what I've experienced and a little of what those close to me have experienced as well.
I've had a lot of learning from hardship. It has been grueling at times. I've dealt with sexual abuse, substance abuse, physical abuse, and mental abuse. I've experienced the death of three children. I have learned everything the hard way. I feel it is important to write about these types of experiences because they are so prevalent in our society. Unfortunately, death is something we will all face and something we will watch our loved ones face as well. We need hope to rise above these things. I felt alone for much of my life, and I don't wish that on anybody else.
