Eva Beames, Childrens Author/Singer/Imaginary Stories

Retired opera/concert singer presents imaginary stories by the Magic Storyteller!

Eva Beames has a 65-year performing career, seen in operas, operettas and concerts in Canada, the US, the UK, Ukraine, and all over Europe. She is also a Magic Storyteller and Muse who stimulates children's imaginations with creative fiction and non-fiction, bedtime stories, and hours of entertainment on long voyages. Ms. Beames’ collection of family-friendly stories is based on her own family experiences. Her desire is to encourage children to relate to their own experiences and create images of characters, animals, and scenes in their own imaginations rather than relying on TV. Storytelling is an Art and Entertainment — both for children and those young at heart!

Currently, she is involved with a retirement home entertaining with songs and music. Be on the lookout for Ms. Beames’ collection of stories on YouTube – coming soon!

The most important thing the author wants readers to gain from her stories:

Through the art of storytelling, I want children to be inspired to use their imaginations. My experience tells me that children accept what is shown and already created for TV and in the media. Listening to, rather than watching, a story presents alternative choices.

Why the author is an authority on the subject of her stories:

Judging from my encounters with both youngsters ages 8-10 and adults alike, it seems that characters on TV are how they base their perceptions, whereas the art of storytelling is an open-concept for their own creations.

Speaking Engagements and School Presentations:

When I do an event, I accompany myself with an autoharp. Although I have manuscripts, I find the oral telling of stories are much more effective. These are my own creative fiction that are both non-threatening and funny, geared to the imagination! Even adults enjoy them. I also have assisted for a semester in a drama class where the youngsters presented their own creations upon graduation.
