Gina LoBiondo, Children's Author
Born in 1960, author Gina LoBiondo grew up loving faerie tales. She began writing stories of her own when she was 13 and continues to do so today. Her first foray into this exciting business is eleven-time book award winner Pegasus — A Dragon's Tale, which she is planning a sequel. Her second book is six-time book award-winner Button Nose the Sad Little Bear. Her newest book, Cinderella — A Love Story is her own retelling of the Cinderella story and is now available.
The most important thing the author wants readers to gain from her books:
My stories deal with the theme of friendship and how the characters are accepting of each other despite their differences.
Why the author is an authority on the subject of her books:
I didn't have friends growing up as I was the recipient of bullying, so that theme of lifelong friendship runs through all my stories.

Speaking Engagements and School Presentations:
I've only done one school visit so far, but I read the book to the kids and then answered questions they had about the story. I also showed them photos of the real prince and princess bears and the Build-A-Bear that inspired the story. Afterward I autographed the books they bought from me.
