Jaclyn Howell, Children's Author

Teacher getting her feet wet in the author world who just published her first children's book

Jaclyn Howell always found it easier to express her thoughts and feelings through writing. Writing creatively includes an array of emotions that allows her to portray characters that are not only conflicted, but are relatable with an underlying theme. She has taught third and fourth grade for 14 years. She has always taught her students to have a conflict that wasn't solved on the same sheet of paper as when the conflict was first mentioned, a catchy climax where the story come together, and most importantly: an obvious underlying theme.

The most important thing the author wants readers to gain from her book:

The main character in From Riches to Rags really needs to be humbled but would rather slander a true friend to fill her vacant self. God's grace and forgiveness is the only thing that can save her from herself. Will she accept this new life?

Why the author is an authority on the subject of her book:

I have dealt with bullying as a child and I work with students who are being bullied and don't know how to deal with the complexity of the issue. I am hoping to help kids (maybe at a private Christian school) to understand the importance of having a personal relationship with God.
