Author, Animal Advocate and Crazy Cat Lady

Janet Vormittag has been publishing "Cats and Dogs, a Magazine Devoted to Companion Animals" since December 2006. The monthly free magazine is distributed in West Michigan, and recent issues can be read on her website. Janet has also written two novels: Dog 281 and its sequel, More Than a Number. Both books deal with animal rights issues such as medical research, dog fighting, the dairy industry and pet euthanasia. Her third book, You Might be a Crazy Cat Lady if..., is a humorous memoir.

Janet has a degree in journalism from Grand Valley State University and was a correspondent for The Grand Rapids Press for ten years. She's been a member of GVSU Allendale Toastmasters Club for ten years and earned her DTM (Distinguished Toastmaster) award in 2017. Using the skills learned in Toastmasters, Janet helps cat rescue groups raise money with Crazy Cat Lady parties.
