Transforming Lives Using My Power Tools: Pen and Notepad

Inspirational author, Kesha Nichols, is a native of New York. She is an advocate for children who are exceptional, penning her second children’s book on this very subject matter. Kesha is very involved in her community and has partnered with Fun Creative Writing to bring her love for writing to the school system through what she calls "her power tools: a pen and notepad." Nichols struggled herself with writing. She has a heart to cultivate and nurture the creative imagination of young people while enhancing their reading and writing abilities.

Ms. Nichols is on a mission to leverage her God-given passion for education and become an advocate for better writing education in the primary grades. Her mission is to empower individuals young and young at heart through her writing and workshops to live their best life on purpose. The goal of her workshops is to inspire others and help them bring about a transformation in their lives.

The most important thing the author wants readers to gain from her books:

Everyone was created for GREATNESS. I use my book as a tool to affirm and encourage both the young and the young at heart while on their journey of life.

Why the author is an authority on the subject of her books:

I have over 20 years of experience doing community work and service. I am an advocate for children, especially those with learning disabilities. I have participated as a board member for ACCS Human Rights Committee and Salem Panola Library. My pen is used as a tool with a purpose. It brings me great pleasure to inspire someone and see their life transform right before my eyes.

Speaking Engagements and School Presentations:

My presentation starts with a focus on the importance of reading and writing as a self-publishing author. Then, we generate a conversation about bullying and the ills that face our children. This is when children share their stories and experiences. The goal of our assembly or workshop is to build self-esteem, self-worth, and affirm each student through participatory exercises and the recitation of affirmations.

Our goal is to raise awareness and eradicate the growing epidemic of BULLYING. In addition, we have partnered with PACER, The National Bullying Prevention Center, who will provide the needed materials for students who are participating. This organization works tirelessly in shining a light on the long-term harmful effects of BULLYING. Children need to know that they matter!
