Roxy Morgan, Children's Author

Expressive storyteller, fortuitous children’s author, and joyful “Grammy” who loves encouraging people and bringing stories to life for children.

I guess one could sum me up best by saying I’m all about Faith, Family, and FUN.

I have authored several children’s picture books emphasizing the values of family and friendship, including George and first place Purple Dragonfly Award-winner, Zoe the Zebra.

Family means the world to me. My husband, Chuck, and I raised three children who are now grown and married with children of their own. We have been blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren, who are my joy and inspiration.

Butler University is where I earned my bachelor’s degree in special education and master’s degree in elementary education. I taught in the Carmel Indiana school system for many years before starting my family. You will find me in my element reading to little ones as a guest speaker in school classrooms and library reading programs. I have made television public service announcements for children’s literacy (a topic close to my heart) and been featured on Indy Style as well as in the April 2017 issue of Story Monsters Ink.

The most important thing the author wants readers to gain from her books:

I'd like my books to encourage fun and memorable bonding time between parents and their children. I hope they help instill the love of reading, encourage imagination, and well… perhaps teach a lesson or two.

Why the author is an authority on the subject of her books:

My books are born from storytelling —first as a camp counselor, then as an elementary school teacher, a parent, and later as a grandparent. My life experiences have provided me the perfect environment to learn how to craft and tell a story that captures the attention and imagination of children.
