Why the author is an authority on the subject of her book:
I have researched the subject of "Belongingness." In addition, I have written and completed a dissertation concerning belongingness as it is related to student achievement.
Speaking Engagements and School Presentations:
I speak with students concerning being different, accepting differences, and learning from each other to make communities a better place. I read the book The We Belong Bunch: Pookie J.'s School Day to students. In addition, I also sing the theme song "You're My Friend" to the students. I also play the digital recording of "You're My Friend."
