Amazing and affordable author visits for all grade levels.

Much like the main character from Monsters in Manhattan, I started out as just a regular kid from Queens, New York. An unspectacular kid who filled countless notebooks with ideas and creations, then always received a box of fresh drawing pads from Santa every Christmas.

After graduating from The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, I embarked upon a career in editorial illustration, only to find it less fulfilling than I had anticipated. Something huge was missing. Sure, I loved doing the drawings, but I needed more. That's when I discovered writing.

Creating odd and interesting characters has always been my passion, but as an author I had the opportunity to bring them to life and tell their incredible stories. Eventually, I had created an amazing array of books that I was very proud of, but, again, there was something missing. That's when I discovered speaking opportunities.

It turns out, the best part of my week is when I have the honor to be invited to a school, library or conference and tell the above story. By far the greatest moment an artist can participate in is when they get the opportunity to share their journey and hopefully inspire someone else's incredible creative quest!

Speaking Engagements and School Presentations:

Hello! Do you know what's better than an author visit? An author, illustrator, graphic designer, web creator and publisher visit! And that's where I come in because I have all of those jobs. But more importantly, I love sharing what I do with young students and inspiring them to begin their own creative journey.

With over two-thousand presentations under my belt, I bring experience, education, and fun to school districts, as well as a humongous wooden "monster crate" to every event. Yeah, you'll have to check the website to see what I mean about that. My programs are always full-day—no “one and done” presentations—and are uniquely designed for each grade’s attention and educational needs. Plus, every session includes jokes ;)

Now, while I have an limitless passion for promoting reading, writing, and drawing with kids, I am also aware of my second function—to make Library Professionals' lives easier. I pride myself on not just my amazing age-level specific presentations, but also my commitment to the people that hire me, which is why I make my programs incredibly affordable, am always willing to stay the full day, and never turn down extras like lunch with classes or whatever else is asked of me. I am, by far, the easiest author you'll ever work with. Overall, I love my jobs with an “s” and hopefully, I'll get to show you why. :)
